This lovingly restored property has returned to its original splendor. It is one of only two examples of Georgian Revival (a modification of Roman lines known as Palladian, after Andera Palladio for his 16th century Italian Villas) architecture in historic Waxahachie—the gingerbread city. Ellis County pioneer and business genius, Philip A. Chapman, an extremely successful banker, rancher and oilman built this structure in 1916. Noted architect, C. W. Bulger, a specialty architect for Baptist churches and famous for designing the first steel reinforced concrete skyscraper in Dallas.
Guest accommodations available are the Victorian Rose Room, Edwardian Violet Room, Country Scented-Geranium Suite, French Lavender Bridal Suite and Garden's View Guest House (Primrose and English Daisy rooms). All are appointed with the appropriate period antiques and herbal-flower decor. Each features a private bath with showering facilities. "Since this is a historic home, all guest accommodations are located on the second floor." |

Dine in a grand manor at The Rosemary Mansion On Main Street. Hand picked from the gardens, pecans, figs, peaches, vegetables, herbs and edible flowers are the inspiration for the distinctive cuisine. Breakfast at The Rosemary Mansion On Main Street caters to the most discerning palate.
The four-course gourmet faire is served on period antique china with sterling silver flatware and Early American Pattern Glass. This truly lets you indulge yourself in Old World elegance while experiencing Texas “Silver Spoon” hospitality.
Appetizers and a signature-spiced coffee are served at 9:00 AM in the Fernery so guests can mingle and get caught up on the news. The second course, always a special fruit dish, is usually served at 9:30 AM in the dining room. The third course, which is a hot entree, is alternated between a sweet and savory selection. Guests can always count on a delicious dessert to complete the meal. For special occasions, or when appropriate, historic recipes are incorporated into the menu. |
