Rockmere Lodge
Bed & Breakfast
Rockmere Lodge, a seaside Victorian shingle-style inn built in 1899, has eight guest rooms, all of which except one have a "majestic view of the Atlantic". Built by the Stearns family of the Stearns and Foster Matress Company as their summer home, Rockmere Lodge has been restored to the grandure of that period.

The appeal of the lodge's turn-of-the-century atmosphere is enhanced by its unique location in a quiet residential neighborhood within a stones throw of Marginal Way, a unique walkway along the rocky cliffs of the ocean. It is an easy walk to Perkins Cove where you will find quaint shops, restaurants and the boats of the working fishing fleet, or to the center of Ogunquit and magnificant Ogunquit Beach.

Rockmere is decorated to reflect the aura of the early 1900s when the wealthy began building palatial second homes along the Maine coast. One of the most popular spots in the inn, besides the living room with its warming fireplace, the wrap-around ocean-front porch, is a "look out" on the third floor. From there, guests have a panoramic view of the ever-changing ocean.

In the extensive gardens there are strawberries, mint, bright sunflowers, a kitchen garden, and many of the flowers and shrubs typically found on the grounds of the summer "cottages" of the early 1900s.

The innkeepers personal touches are evident everywhere: Outside there are groupings of Adirondack chairs arranged to give guests privacy as well as views, and a traditional Victorian Gazebo where a cool ocean breeze keeps you very comfortable on even the hotest of summer days while allowing you to watch the boats go by. Inside, each room has a distinct look, and is named after a friend or former owner of the inn.
